Electrify SA Homes Now

As South Australians head toward a state election, one question stands out: why are families paying so much for gas when their rooftops are covered in solar?

With more than half of homes powered by the sun, South Australian households are providing clean electricity for the state but unlike Victoria, the ACT, and NSW, SA is falling behind in helping families switch to cheaper all-electric homes.

Rewiring Australia is calling on the SA Government to step up. Targeted support for households - rebates and incentives for heat pumps, induction cookers, or batteries - can slash hundreds off bills and get SA ready for the future.

Email Tips +

We would love for you to craft your own email to your MP - a personal email is far more impactful.

So if you have the time - pls use your own voice but feel free to pepper in some of our messaging already provided.

1. Start with "I am a local"

MPs represent people.  Start by stating you live in their electorate.

  • Example: "I’ve lived in [Suburb] for 10 years and I vote in this electorate."

2. Make it personal

Mention a specific bill or a specific struggle

3. Ask a direct question

Don’t just complain; demand an answer. This forces the staffer to actually draft a response rather than sending a "thank you for your feedback" auto-reply.

4. Keep it punchy

3-4 short paragraphs are plenty.

5. End with your name but pls include this line: Authorised by Francis Vierboom, Rewiring Australia, Suite 517/55 Miller St, Pyrmont NSW 2009 to comply with state election laws.

Thank you
